Sports-specific
training
Sports Specific
Trainers can help improve
strength,
flexibility and
stamina to improve performance in specific
sports. Sports specific training is all about developing physical
conditions to improve performance and skills at a particular
sport. Also, understanding the needs of the game,
training/practicing at the correct place, in order to meet sports
requirements.
Injury
recovery
Persons with
injuries are often required to supply a written physician's
clearance depending on the extent of the
injury. Certified personal fitness trainers can contribute
significantly and uniquely to recovery and rehabilitation efforts. It
is necessary the trainer coordinates training and nutritional programs
with a doctor,
physiatrist, physical therapist,
occupational therapist,
chiropractor and/or a special nutritional counselor.
Nutrition and
recovery
Proper
nutrition is as important to health as exercise. When exercising,
it becomes even more important to have a good diet to ensure that the
body has the correct ratio of
macronutrients whilst providing ample
micronutrients, in order to aid the body with the recovery process
following strenuous exercise.
Proper rest and
recovery are also as important to health as exercise; otherwise the
body exists in a permanently injured state and will not improve or
adapt adequately to the exercise. Hence, it is important to remember
to allow adequate recovery between exercise sessions. It is necessary
to refill the
glycogen stores in the skeletal muscles and liver. We emphasize
the importance of an integral recovery.
